A Sunday Word from Gaz, on Saturday. 15-08-20
There is a lot of advice on the Internet about how to go about convincing your partner (Husband or wife) to get involved in preparedness.
It gets even harder if your spouse is against it altogether!
For Christians this is even worse if you have a partner that is not saved.
Even I have an unsaved spouse, but at least she is on-board with my prepping! But for those who’s spouse is not it can be heart breaking!
All we can do is pray for a spouse and allow God to intervene.
1 Corinthians 7:15
…14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such case. God has called you to live in peace.
16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?…
I don’t use these verses lightly, but neither will I sugar coat my view! If God has told me to prepare, I will obey God. And I will let my spouse know that! If; they are a Christian; they should understand, but if they are unsaved I will still say I will follow God now matter what the consequences!
This is what I have been trying to say in other sermons, we need to only follow God not man and allow God to look out for what ever happens because of that. And trust me, He will honour you decision!
“But the church and my bible says I am to be obedient to my husband”
…and that is true…If, your husband is a Godly man!
By not allowing you to obey God, he no longer has any rights as your spouse! (Unless he repents and obeys God).
Luke 14:26 (Amplified Bible)
26 “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God]—he cannot be My disciple.
What ever you do, make sure you do it in and according to Gods will, through prayer! You may need to speak to your pastor/minister, but do not back down from being obedient to Gods direction in you life!
The world system is against every principle of God. It has destroyed marriage and family values. It promotes every evil thing under the sun and crushes individual spirit.
From abortion; to pornography; to political skulduggery and mental and physical control; through all forms of media, and even worse; the Internet.
It has destroyed worldly families, but it has decimated Gods people! We as Christians have cecum to the lies of the devil and allowed the world into every part of our lives. We water down our beliefs so as not to upset the world. We would rather go to church and be entertained then face the truth and have our lives changed and strengthened by a Holy and loving God. We rather obey church leaders rather then the commandments of Jesus our saviour!
So now you reap what the world has sown!
Stand up for your Saviour in every area of your life. Be a true believer and let not Christs sacrifice on the cross be in vain, do not trample the blood of Christ in living as the world.
If you are not willing to die for Him, then you are not worthy of Him! You are worse than the heathen! They will perish in hell because you wont help them because you have given your God given power to the devil!
Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
In James 1:27 we read:
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. NLT.
If we profess to be Christians we need to follow Christs examples! To be true disciples we are to love our brothers and sisters!
Our first priority is always God, then our family then the rest of the body of Christ!
1 Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” KJV
So as God has spoken to me to prepare and I have provided for my family, it is now my responsibility to help other Christians. widows and children and single mums and yes dads!
God has blessed us with land and we wish to help those who truly love the Lord and are willing to do what they can to help.
And from Mathew Henry we read”
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Hebrews 13:2 NKJV
not forgetful to entertain strangers for his sake. We must add to brotherly kindness charity.
Here observe,
1. The duty required-to entertain strangers, both those that are strangers to the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to our persons, especially those who know themselves to be strangers here and are seeking another country, which is the case of the people of God, and was so at this time: the believing Jews were in a desperate and distressed condition. But he seems to speak of strangers as such; though we know not who they are, nor whence they come, yet, seeing they are without any certain dwelling place, we should allow them room in our hearts and in our houses, as we have opportunity and ability.
2. The motive: Thereby some have entertained angels unawares; so Abraham did (Gen. 18), and Lot (Gen. 19), and one of those that Abraham entertained was the Son of God; and, though we cannot suppose this will ever be our case, yet what we do to strangers, in obedience to him, he will reckon and reward as done to himself. Mt. 25:35, I was a stranger, and you took me in. God has often bestowed honours and favours upon his hospitable servants, beyond all their thoughts, unawares. - Matthew Henry
If you and your family need our help or somewhere to live, we have the land. We are poor in mammon but rich of heart! You will need to provide your own van, tent or building and supplies but we can all work together as did the disciples after Pentecost!
Fellowship with each other will get us through what is to come!
Do not worry, God has a plan for you!
Blessings to all.
