Samantha put up a post:
Confessions of a Christian Prepper
My hope shouldn’t lie in survival skills and stockpiles.
By Andrea Palpant Dilley
I have seen many Christians like this. The reality for Christians first and foremost is our walk with Lord Jesus Christ and everything else comes second. What you find though is people who's walk is lukewarm and then fear gets them to prepare and the devil comes in and puts lies into their minds about why they are prepping!
So as I said first before, unless you have a true and faithful relationship with Christ Jesus and are taking up your cross and following daily, then you will never prepare properly. The enemy uses fear to create doubt and fear; if you are in Christ then there is no fear as perfect faith drives out fear.
And when it comes to looking after your neighbors, Jesus always is talking about Christians and not the world first.
Our brothers and sisters in Christ are our family and friends and widows and orphans of the faith are who we are to look after!
Everyone else rejected the knowledge of Christ and is not there fore a apart of our lives, friends, family or strangers included. Does not mean we stop praying for them or sharing the gospel with them, but it does mean we are to fellowship with like-minded and care for like-minded people.
Matthew 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.
Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Revelation 21:27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”
There are many scripture that talk about believers and non-believers, but if you are honest with yourself you will know that when we accepted Christ as our Lord and saviour we knew we would have to turn our backs on the world at some time to be Christs disciple!
Luke 14:25-27 25 Many people were traveling with Jesus. He said to them, 26 “If you come to me but will not leave your family, you cannot be my follower. You must love me more than your father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—even more than your own life! 27 Whoever will not carry the cross that is given to them when they follow me cannot be my follower.
That means God wants our full attention on Him, not this life and all that is in it. Do we still love and care for family or friends, yes you can, but if there comes a time to follow God and His ways, then we are to follow Him. And one day you will have to decide. As the time gets shorter we are to turn our backs on anything that is not holy or righteous.
Rev 3: 1-6 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,
‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’
Revelations is Gods warning, revelling to us what is to come and giving us a chance to get right with Him and prepare in every way in our lives. Do not be confused Revelations is a revealing as is Daniel and the other writings in the New Testament.
The bible is the Christian’s handbook on how to live as a Christian, it was for us to learn and grow in Christ. It is to be read and studied by us. It is a way of life for us. Its interpretation is for us through the Holy Spirit. It is good to study with others but remember it is for us. Don’t listen to your pastor, teacher or church and their doctrines until you are comfortable with Gods word yourself. Allow Gods word to help you grow, don’t grow with someone else’s interpretation before God helps you to interpret the work with Him for your life.
I am not having a go at any church or minister; I am having a go at you as an individual. God loved Abraham and made him the father of a nation.
No bible, no minister just a world of sinful people. But he had a love for God and was obedient. So God blessed him.
The same goes for us. Love and be obedient to God and God will bless and keep you and help you to grow. Church is meant to be a place where believers can come together and worship and fellowship. Hear scriptures read to encourage each other, and the pastor or minister’s role to feed the sheep with God’s word and make sure we have needs meet. He is to be a servant of the people, but I don’t see that today. As are many teaching worldly doctrines, and keeping people in slavery to false teachings.
1 Peter 2:11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
Rather, than following the true meaning of the churches role.
James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,”
As we are, saved by Grace, through faith and not by works.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
So before anyone has a go at me remember:
Romans 14:5-6 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.
And:
Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
The morale of this word! Listen to the Holy Spirit.
Every man who speaks into your life, test the spirit!
1 John 4:1-6
4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak asof the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Love each other,
Help each other,
Pray for each other.
Be blessed in the Lord.
