Gaz's Sunday Sermon on Friday...
As far as prepping goes, I have read all the books, been on all the sites, brought most of the gear, put away enough food, read, researched and prayed.
I have tried to give others what I have learned and tried to have been an example to others.
But what I have learned is we still look at prepping as does the world.
As Christians we need to stop looking at different scenarios and only look at what the bible tells us. Yes I keep things in a “Farahday cage” , Yes I have survival gear and a BOB and a knives and firearms and all the stuff I read in books, but, I prepare for how the Bible tells me to and the reasons why.
Fear is how the world prerpare’s. We are not of the world so we prepare with faith and knowledge of Gods Word and the final outcome.
ACP is here to try and help you put up supplies for the Tribulation meaning the time of Gods wrath, mainly the last 3.5 years, but being wise like the ant, we prepare for longer and have extra to share. No sharing is mainly for our family and Christian brothers and sisters but also remember what Paul said :
2 Thessalonians 3:6-15 New King James Version (NKJV)
Warning Against Idleness
6 But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; 8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, 9 not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and [c]exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.
13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. 14 And if anyone does not obey our word in this [d]epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 Yet do not count himas an enemy, but [e]admonish him as a brother.
Here are 7 Things to do now to prepare for the Tribulation:
Repent Now
Jesus Christ is very much alive. If we have not been living for him we need to repent. Don’t allow yourself to be deceived. Remember that Jesus Christ alone is the Lamb of God who paid all our sin debt. Feed on the word of God. Let the word of God be planted on your heart. Lay aside the things of this world that steal your heart. Remember what Jesus said. “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Pray Always without ceasing
The bible warns us we are to pray always without ceasing. I find myself praying between sleep. Thanking God for watching over me and praising him for all the good he has done in my life. It is never too much to thank God for what he has done. The bible says we are to come into his presence with thanks giving and into his courts with praise. I think the more we thank him the less we will worry about what is going on around us. He should be the object of our focus. He alone is worth all our attention. Did you know that God has given us spiritual armor? Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and daily read the word of God to be ready for any spiritual battle. God has told us how to overcome every battle.
Be prepared to provide help to others
A part of the Christians calling is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. By pointing the way and blessing our neighbors in their time of need we give God glory. We must point other lost souls to the kingdom of God and be an encouragement to other born again believers. Our generation is raised up for such a time as this.
Have plenty of food on hand
In any disaster it’s imperative we stock up on food as preparation, not only for the tribulation but for any unforeseen emergency. Be ready to feed our families and those around us. Since we are talking about the tribulation period, consider having up to 3 and a half years worth of food on hand, since Christians wont be able to buy or sell as the people of the world would. How can this be done? There are a number of places online that provide long term emergency food for sale. In some cases the food can be stored up to 20 years as long as you keep it in a cool place.
Store up Water
I am not sure how accurate this is, but some say you can live for 3 days without water. That tell you how important water is. We will need a source of water that is untainted and pretty much unlimited. One person needs about one gallon of water per day and that’s between drinking water, cooking, shower and washing up. It may be advisable to install whole house filtration systems to purify your drinking water supply. Figure out how many filters you will need to last you through the tribulation. Another option is to store up barrels of water and even cases of drinking water.
Energy source
You may need a Energy source to cook and to light the house. An option for cooking can be a wood stove or the use of a grill that burns with propane or coal. kerosene lamps are something affordable you can purchase today. You also may need energy to cool or heat the house or power a fan. There are solar generators available online that don’t require fuel.
Protection from criminals
When it comes to large catastrophes people can sometimes surprise you by their reactions. They can become frustrated, angry and desperate. Don’t depend on your government to be there to protect you when the world goes crazy in any large scale emergency. Think back to hurricane Katrina when everything went wrong. The police was no where to be found and that’s probably because they were home protecting their own families. We have seen it again and again. Gangs will form and go house to house rioting, looting and committing capital crimes. You will need to protect your families and neighbors if necessary.
Though some may not want to hear it, it would be wise to get some training on the use of firearms.
And to finish, don’t allow fear to drag you down or others to be negative and try to stop you. Faith, Hope, and Trust in our heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ daily with prayer, worship and fellowship, will help build us up and keep us prepared.
Bless you all.
