...And I'm so glad I did!
Our regular church was hosting a Christian Band performing Christmas Carols in the evening, so our pastor asked if it was all right if we didn't have a morning service.
Since our church was closed, I decided to go to the Anglican, and suggested that anyone else from our church who wanted a morning service should come as well.
One of the women from the Anglican Church said to me afterwards that it felt like a Christmas miracle! Normally, they have around five in attendance -- yesterday they had 19!
The service was excellent, and one of the older women from my church said to me that it was just what she had needed; perfectly addressing what was going on in her life.
_____________
Why am I even mentioning this? As Christians, sometimes we can feel isolated... In our town, there are around 35 practicing Christians. That really isn't many in a town of 2000 people, but it can feel even fewer when they are divided over three churches (Non-denominational--previously Uniting, Anglican and Catholic).
It's important that we come together and give encouragement to our brethren... To that end, in the new year our three churches have decided to come together for weekly bible studies.
Does anyone have ideas/stories of other things that can bring Christians together in fellowship?
______________
P.S.
The Christmas carols in the evening were excellent, and very well attended!
I have mixed feelings about it, but this year when promoting it I didn't mention that it was being hosted by a Christian group, and I noticed we had a lot more people than last year.

Our Church is also in a small town, we normally have about 100-120 in attendance each week. We also hold Christmas events, where members invite others to join with us, but we also make sure people know who we are and what we stand for, Jesus the Christ.
I also think in this day and age, where the secularists, humanists, communists and antitheists are on the march to try and make Christianity illegal, it is more important than ever to rock the boat, make some noise, and get a bit of first century apostleship happening.
Just remember, Jesus is the reason for the season, not santa claus, not presents, not Christmas trees, not over eating and stuffing ourselves on fatty foods, but Jesus Christ, the risen Lord and saviour of the world. Non can come unto the Father except by the Christ. So if we keep silent on that, how can anyone know who he is, what he has done, and what our hope is? ________ Oh and really happy the carol evening was excellent!

Good on ya Scoutmum, Just because we have different views on some doctrines, as long a Christ is the focus, it is good to get together! My focus has always been welfare and food! So I started a drop in center in Wee Waa NSW.
We had our services on Sundays, then opened up for a fellowship lunch every week which brought people from other churches along as well as others in the community!
The rest of the week the doors where open for kids and those who just needed company! We had computer access, pool table, games and Austar for the kids and the kettle was always on!
I encourage you to continue fellowship with the other churches and try doing other joint activities for the community!
